Established Homes & Acreage

Floors Built for Kincumber Homes

Kincumber sits between Erina and the Brisbane Water, with Kincumber Mountain behind it and the Broadwater in front. Most of the housing went up between the 1970s and the 1990s: brick homes on decent blocks, often with a double garage and a slab that has had thirty years of cars, oil and the occasional coat of hardware-store floor paint. Further up Avoca Drive and out toward Picketts Valley the blocks turn to acreage, and almost every one has a shed.

Older slabs are where preparation matters most. We diamond-grind every floor rather than acid-etching it, because grinding removes the old paint, opens the concrete and gives the epoxy something to bond to. Cracks and spalls get filled before the first coat goes down, so the finished floor is flat and seamless rather than a coating stretched over old damage.

Lower parts of Kincumber and Kincumber South sit close to the water table, and we take moisture readings on every slab before we quote. If a reading is high we use a moisture-tolerant primer so vapour from below can't lift the coating. It adds a little to the job and saves a lot in the long run.

Kerta Road & Empire Bay Drive

Workshop & Trade Unit Floors

The light-industrial pocket around Kerta Road and Empire Bay Drive is home to mechanics, marine and trailer businesses, joiners and trade suppliers serving the whole Kincumber and Empire Bay side of the Coast. These floors take hoists, forklifts, brake fluid, hydraulic oil and the grit that comes in on boat trailers. Bare concrete dusts up, soaks in every spill and is hard to keep clean enough for a customer walking in.

We install high-build epoxy systems with a chemical-resistant topcoat, line marking for bays and walkways, and a non-slip aggregate where floors get wet. For working businesses we stage the job by half or by bay, so you can keep the doors open while the other half cures. Weekend installs are an option when a full shutdown isn't.

If you're fitting out a unit for the first time, coating the floor before the racking and benches go in is the cheapest and quickest time to do it. Ask us for a quote at the lease stage and we'll work around your fit-out schedule.

Epoxy Flooring Kincumber — FAQs

Do you install epoxy flooring in Kincumber?
Yes. Kincumber is about 20 minutes from our Tuggerah base, and we're regularly working between Avoca Drive and Empire Bay Drive. We do residential garages and sheds, plus commercial and industrial floors in the Kerta Road area. Site visits and quotes are free.
My garage slab is old and has been painted before. Can you coat over it?
Not over the paint, no. Most Kincumber garages we see are 1970s to 1990s slabs with a coat of floor paint that's flaking at the door. We diamond-grind the whole floor back to clean concrete, fill cracks and spalls, then build the new system on a properly prepared surface. That's why our floors don't peel the way the paint did.
The house is near the Broadwater and the slab sometimes feels damp. Is epoxy still an option?
Usually, but we test first. Low-lying parts of Kincumber and Kincumber South sit on a high water table, and moisture pushing up through the slab is the number one cause of epoxy lifting. We take moisture readings before quoting. If they're high, we specify a moisture-tolerant primer under the system. If the slab isn't suitable, we'll say so.
How much does epoxy flooring cost in Kincumber?
Residential garage systems start from $90–$100/m². Sheds and workshops are often cheaper per square metre because the areas are larger, and commercial floors with line marking or chemical-resistant topcoats are quoted on site. Every quote is fixed-price, so the number we give you is the number you pay.
